What Is Gutter Replacement?

Gutter replacement removes an aging or damaged gutter system and installs a new one, rather than patching individual sections. It fits homes where the gutters are sagging in multiple places, leaking from many seams, undersized for the roof, or simply at the end of their service life.

We specialize in providing exceptional gutter replacements to safeguard your home

We identify signs of damage—such as frequent leaks, sagging sections, or visible wear—indicating the need for a replacement. We offer a choice of storm-proof systems, made from high-grade aluminum or copper that can withstand the state’s harsh weather.

Along with delivering a precise installation process to guarantee durability and peak performance, we assure that our investment in quality materials reduces future maintenance costs and enhances your home’s value. Stay tuned for more on how our resilient and reliable solutions can offer you peace of mind.

Signs Your Kansas City home Needs Gutter Replacement

While we all love the sunny climate of Kansas City, it’s important to remember that our homes need care and attention to withstand the elements, particularly our gutters.

Neglecting your gutters can lead to serious issues down the line. So, how do you know when your Kansas City home needs a gutter replacement?

First, we look for visible signs of damage. Cracks, holes, or rust spots on your gutters are clear indicators that they’re past their prime. We also watch for sagging sections or gutters pulling away from the house. This means they’re no longer able to handle the water volume they were designed for.

Second, if you notice water damage under your gutters, or pooling water around your home’s foundation, it’s a clear sign that your gutters aren’t doing their job. These issues can lead to costly repairs if not addressed promptly.

Lastly, if your gutters are constantly needing repairs, it might be more cost-effective to replace them entirely.

Gutter Replacement Options for Kansas City homes

Given the unique weather conditions of Kansas City, it’s essential to take into account various gutter replacement options that can withstand the elements.

As your safety is our priority, we offer storm-proof gutters, designed to endure the state’s intense sun, heavy rains, and severe storm-force winds. When considering the replacement process, it’s important to choose a system that not only meets your needs but also aligns with your home’s style. We provide an array of options, including K-style, half-round, and box gutters, each with its unique benefits.

K-style gutters, popular for their durability and capacity, are perfect for Kansas City homes that experience heavy rainfall. Half-round gutters, while not as common, provide an aesthetic appeal, complementing homes with a traditional or classic design. Box gutters, usually used for large commercial buildings, can also be installed for residential properties that require a high-capacity system.

With our team, you get more than just a gutter replacement. We provide peace of mind, knowing that your home is equipped with a reliable, high-quality drainage system capable of withstanding Kansas City’s challenging weather conditions.

Premium Materials for Durable Kansas City Gutters

As we navigate the options for your Kansas City gutter replacement, the choice of material plays a significant role in guaranteeing longevity and performance.

Our home protection gutters are made from premium materials designed to withstand Kansas City’s unique weather conditions. This guarantees your home stays safe from potential water damage.

We primarily use high-grade aluminum for our gutters. It’s rust-resistant, lightweight yet sturdy, offering superior durability. It’s also customizable, so it complements your home’s aesthetics without compromising functionality. For coastal homes, we recommend copper gutters. They’re resilient to salt air corrosion, making them ideal for seaside living.

Regardless of the material, we maintain the same high standards. Our gutters are seamless, reducing the risk of leaks. This design, coupled with our premium materials, translates to gutters that not only protect your home but also enhance its value.

Our Precision Gutter Replacement Process

Our Precision Gutter Replacement Process

  1. Inspection: we assess the full existing system to confirm replacement, not repair, is the right call, and note any fascia damage underneath.
  2. Removal: the old gutters and downspouts come off and get hauled away.
  3. Fascia prep: we clean and level the fascia and soffit so the new gutters have a sound surface to mount to.
  4. Installation: new gutters go up, 6-inch K-style aluminum by default, sized up or down depending on the roof.
  5. Downspout decision: existing downspouts are reused if they are the right size and in good condition; otherwise we replace them so the whole system matches.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should gutters be replaced instead of repaired?

Replacement makes more sense than repair when gutters are sagging or pulling away in multiple places, leaking from many seams, heavily rusted or corroded, undersized for the roof, or simply at the end of their useful life. A single localized leak or loose section is usually repairable.

How long do aluminum gutters typically last?

Seamless aluminum gutters typically last 20 years or more when they are maintained. Lifespan is shortened by clogs left in place over years, by impact damage, and by underlying fascia rot that lets gutters pull away.

Do you remove and dispose of the old gutters?

Yes. We remove the old gutters and downspouts, haul them off-site, and dispose of them as part of the replacement. We also inspect the fascia behind the old gutters and discuss any wood repair needed before the new gutters are installed.

How long does a full replacement take?

Most single-family residential replacements are completed in a single day. Larger homes, multi-story homes, or jobs that include downspout reworking or fascia repair can take an additional day. Weather can extend the schedule.

Can the existing downspouts be reused?

Sometimes. If the existing downspouts are the right size, in good condition, and route water away from the foundation properly, they can be reused. More often we recommend replacing them at the same time so the entire system is the same age and matches the new gutters.

What gutter size do you recommend for a replacement?

Our default residential replacement is 6-inch K-style aluminum gutters with 3×4-inch downspouts, which handle heavy Kansas City rain better than the older 5-inch profile. We can stay with 5-inch on smaller roofs and upsize to 7-inch on commercial buildings.
